Clients of Wine-Oh! Tours by Passport to Adventure and More are quickly learning that a wine tasting trip is a great way celebrate with friends and family. Our customized Bachelorette party wine tours are becoming very popular. We take groups by limo, mini bus or full-size coach, depending on group size and head out for a fun day of wine tastings, food, music and socializing.
On Saturday, August 18, we took the limo to the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, where we met the bachelorette and 8 of her friends to begin the day. We set off on a breathtakingly scenic drive along the Ohio River to pay a visit to the fine folks at Best Vineyards and Winery. The ladies were given the VIP treatment with a tasting of any and all wines on Best’s tasting menu. Our next stop was Turtle Run Winery, where they got to see the owner and vintner, Jim Pfeiffer, along with his staff processing the grapes by pressing them into juice. The ladies got to touch, taste and smell not only the many wines on Turtle Run’s extensive wine list, but also the grapes as they were being taken to the press for processing.
Scout Mountain Winery provided the ladies with a very special treat. Winery owners Mike and Margaret Schad along with their staff were in the process of bottling their sweet Red Tailed Hawk wine. The ladies were a offered rare opportunity to bottle, cork, seal and label their own bottle of Red Tailed Hawk. Each lady took her turn at bottling and for many this was a highlight of the day and something they will remember for many years to come.
Our final stop was Grateful Goat Winery where the ladies were led through a tasting of each of the wines on the list, including their white and red Sangrias. Live music was provided to guests on this day, so the ladies chose a glass of their favorite wine to enjoy along with the entertainment.
Our day was coming to a close as the ladies had to get back to the Seelbach Hotel to join some other friends for dinner plans that evening. We made our way back to Louisville and said our good-byes. I was assured by all that the day had exceeded their expectations and that is always our goal!
