Southern Illinois Wine Trail Day Trip Saturday, July 14, 2012
Enjoy a day out with your friends through the scenic countryside surrounded by beautiful parkland and nature reserves to the Southern Illinois Wine trail. Presented by Wine-Oh! Tours by Passport to Adventure and More.
We offer small group sizes for a more comfortable and personal experience. Enjoy the company of other wine lovers as we travel together and share the fun! As always with Wine-Oh! Tours you will receive a free gift bag of goodies and special surprises along the way and enjoy our high level of quality and customer service.
We will depart from Evansville’s west side at 8:30am. We should be return by approx. 9:30pm.
Blue Sky Winery, a Wine-Oh! Tour group favorite, will be our first visit. At their beautiful Tuscan-style tasting room we will enjoy a wine tasting followed by lunch.
Bella Terra Winery with its beautiful lake-side setting, provides our next tasting. They offer a delicious homemade Sangria as well.
Hogg Hollow Winery is a family friendly winery, with a farm-like setting. We will have a tasting here, where many of the wines are named for owner, Steve Hogg’s grandchildren.
Chocolate pairs well with wine, so we will pay a visit to the Chocolate Factory located near Dixon Springs State Park. The Chocolate Factory features over 50 varieties of specialty and traditional gourmet chocolate candies, fudge, old fashioned peanut brittle and more!
Shawnee Winery is our next stop, where we will enjoy a tasting in their gift shop style tasting room.
Our last visit of the day will be at Cache River Basin Vineyard and Winery. Here we will enjoy a wine tasting and a delicious dinner in their Wineaux’s Restaurant, which overlooks their vineyard and wine bottle shaped lake.
